Homes and Interiors, February 2008 ('10 of The Best Romantic Retreats')

"Imagine your very own mini Baronial hall as your playground, with a glorious private Northumbrian valley all to yourselves. This is what awaits at Hethpool, an Arts & Crafts house built in extravagant style, with turrets aplenty. Explore the wilderness of heath and moorland before returning to cosy up by the fire then sampling one of Eildon's delicious home cooked-suppers-Tweed salmon, perhaps, or local grouse, accompanied by vegetables from the garden, Eildon will even bring your meal to your own private dining room in the summerhouse, a secluded little timber building on the banks of a small lake. If you ride they can even do b&b for the horses!"

The Guardian. July 2007 ('Northumberland National Park Best B&B')

"situated close to the Pennine Way, and with St Cuthbert's Way passing the bottum of the driveway, this Edwardian manor house is ideal for walkers. All food is homemade with many ingredients coming straight from the garden, and the owner Eildon also sells her homemade bread, jam and marmalade. there is even a therapy room, where quests can book a healing treatment."

The Field July 2010

"I am going to be modelling my b&b, which I have just started, on friends at Hethpool where they run an eccentric establishment and the host possesses a rather saucy wit."

"It was a very stormy day yesterday, but you received us with the fire already burning! Your dinner was absolutely great. We started with the cheese souflle [I can recommend that to anyone] and the wild duck was delicious. The fact that you could tell us when, where and by whom it was shot , must be unique."

"The wettest June on record and we do the St.Cuthbert's way! Hoorah for excellent b&b and especially the wonderful food there.
